Oh, the world of networking, where my love for math (as long as it doesn’t involve differential equations) and technology combine. Like most people, I’m assuming, when I first saw IP addresses, I just shrugged and assumed the magical world of technology did it all, so what else was there to learn? Well, boy was I super wrong. There is so much involved with it, and I freaking love it. Binary, hexadecimal, and subnetting? Yes, please, I will take it all. Networking has been a really fun subject to study so far. David Bombal’s classes and Network Chuck’s YouTube videos have really ignited a passion I never knew existed. The best part is that I can try all the things they talk about at home, and if it gets really complicated, Packet Tracer has been a blast to work with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is still a lot to learn, but understanding the methodology on how things move around the internet has been tremendously fun. I’m still struggling a bit with memorizing a full IP packet, but I can at least use Wireshark and have a good enough understanding of what is going on. I’m looking forward to eventually finishing up with my A+ certification and moving onto focusing more on networking. Still not sure if I want to tackle CCNA or Network+ though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
